UX Design Mentoring with David Nett

User Experience Design—or UX Design—is a hybrid discipline. People with so many different backgrounds end up getting into UX Design that has continually morphed into this combination of psychology, anthropology, architecture, sociology, computer science, graphic design, and business—there are probably another dozen we could add and it still would not be enough. When people with so many backgrounds come together, to form one common field, how do you make sense of it? As one UX Design professional we spoke to put it:
“UX is an interesting field when it comes to learning, education, mentoring. I think that traditional ‘book learning’ is a tough way to pick it up – and in my experience, it can be better understood through supervised, hands-on experience.”
UX Design Mentoring with David Nett If you’re looking for a hands-on experience, and you are in the Los Angeles area, we hope you will join us for a great UX Design Mentoring night! Wednesday, April 20th, at 7:00 pm PST, join us at The Apple Store in Santa Monica (1415 3rd St, Santa Monica, CA 90401), with keynote speaker David Nett! We will hear David’s presentation, have a brief Q&A with him, then have some great open discussions with the group. David is gracious enough to lend us his time to go over his extensive background in UX/UI, and help us understand how he found success in the field. He has held positions at many top companies such as the International Academy of Web Television, Break Media, Homestore, Inc., and Stamps.com. David is currently the UX Architect for Edmunds.com.
